they are breakoff bolts and when they are tightened and that head snaps off, they are hell to remove. a MASSIVE bitch if you dont have a drill press. i fought with breaking the bolts that are on the ignition. even so, i still wouldnt mess around with it man. if not, i dont know what the code is inside there. i might have the dealer cut me that coded key and see if it works. if they cant, thats a good sign to deff go to a different one. most locksmiths can make a new one on the spot. be ready to take the bike, the registration, and possibly even the title. My bike is currently stuck in my garage in GA, collecting dust and it'll cost me about $600 or so to replace all of the keys, ignition, tank, rear seat. I moved about a year ago to a different city and with all of the confusions of moving to a different city in two weeks, I lost my key.
